Middle school experiments can be as simple as collecting data on the temperature of the different layers of the atmosphere.
High school students are welcome to build more sophisticated payloads that measure, for example, radiation levels or collect biological samples. The Dropzone! team can assist with mission and/or payload design and implementation.
Student payloads can contain up to six pounds of equipment. Dropzone! can offer additional testing equipment, which will allow students to design and conduct experiments in a number of different areas.
Here a just a few of experimental ideas to consider:
- Biological sampling
- Radiation measurements
- Recording wind speeds
- Characterizing thermal layers
- Adding to cartography knowledge
- Characterizing Magnetic fields
- Using GPS Technology
- Taking atmospheric air pressure
- Using Amateur radio
- Using Packet data and telemetry
