Dropzone!

Dropzone is a K-12 education outreach program of Kentucky Space that uses high altitude balloons to teach young people about space science and to encourage them to pursue an education in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines.

Students design and launch their own payload to 100,000 feet or more, a region often referred to as "near space."

Through a unique partnership, local individuals and organizations can support Dropzone! student experiments with a tax deductible contribution and receive a one-of-a-kind memento in exchange: an image of that individual's or organization's choice pictured at 100,000 feet with the beautiful backdrop of earth below and the rich blackness of space above.

Schools, think of it as a high-tech, high-altitude "bake sale," a fundraiser that may raise up to $2,250.00 per launch for lab equipment, books and supplies in YOUR school.
